It's OK to like tubes better than solid state. In some ways they do better than solid state, and it is NOT just added distortion, either.
Serious circuit designers respect the work of others, and try to learn how to make the best sound possible. Over the years, tubes have gotten closer to some of the advantages of SS, and the reverse is true. No amp is completely ideal, no matter what the ad copy says.
