Which to pass-on, which to keep?...

Posted by dark_dave56 on February 20, 2021 at 03:58:32:

...and these are not anything particularly "special" or "high-end"--they are remnants of my old bedroom system, and I need to pick one pair to keep (with the new bedroom components), and the other can move on.

JBL S38 Series II vs Klipsch RB-81 IV--both are small-format speakers w/8" woofers and titanium tweeters. Similar FR ranges, the JBLs are 3-ways and far less efficient, the Klipsch are 2-ways and brutally efficient.

Current components to be paired with--Yamaha A-S501 Integrated, Yamaha CD-N301 Network CDP, Yamaha T-D500 Tuner, and Dual CS5000 TT.

Again, this is a bedroom system, so don't get too critical. My mains are monsters and in their own dedicated room with all of the big-boy toys.

Preferences?, and why? Both are very competent--I've tried both, but can't really pick. Sub support is here and available (if needed), but it is a bedroom.
