RE: Ryan R630 Floorstanding Speakers

Posted by Gary on October 26, 2016 at 14:48:42:

Brian makes a good point. These aren't flashy speakers. Their appearance is nice but conventional. What makes them special, I believe, is the attention paid to the crossover, the cabinet design and the choice of drivers. When I first heard the 630s at RMAF I found myself listening for longer than I typically would in an exhibit room. I did that even when Todd Ryan played music I didn't particularly like. The sound I heard kept me interested and involved, with no inclination to move on and try something else. That's proved to be true also as a 620 owner.
