RE: Dynaudio tweeters

Posted by DMW on May 21, 2012 at 12:58:16:

I would consider Morel tweeters as possible replacements. The technology is roughly equal as the founder of Morel designed many of the Dynaudio tweeters as I understand it. They share similar designs, dome materials, "hexacoil" voice coil, wire, etc. Morel have tweeters are roughly in the price range of $70 a pair to almost $600 a pair at Madisound.

The guys at Madisound know both lines very well and can help you.

Don't be surprised at the sticker shock when you are told the price of tweeters from Dynaudio dealers. Some years ago you could have just ordered replacement voice coils from Madisound and that would have been a modest cost. You might be able to buy new tweeters for the price of just Dynaudio voice coils.

It's just a suggestion. YMMV.
