RE: I could use some advice

Posted by ozzyboy on January 10, 2015 at 12:05:50:

I'm sorry guys for not concluding this story.

I finally did get the unit repaired. Repaired meaning a whole new unit with just the speakers and a circuit board transferred.
The repair fee was $6000.I negotiated with the seller to pay half of that and if he ever got reimbursed for the shipping damages he would pay me the other half.
And to my surprise he agreed!

Well, it was repaired and then I started big time going through the chain of command at the shipping company.(The seller was NO help)
Eventually, they did agree to pay for the damages. The seller got his check right away from them but, still held off from paying me for about 2 weeks. When he finally did pay me , it was a personal check and I was really concerned that it would bounce.

But... it didn't.

So, lessons learned,
DO NOT EVER buy anything this fragile and big via an internet purchase.
Don't buy anything from Echo and Optics
Don't hide the costs from the wife, (believe me I'm still getting back lash)
