That 45 amp had Magnequest BCP-15 plate chokes and Robin Hood Parafeed OPTs so as a beliver I would have spent for Mike's big Brooklyn P-P OPTs but he was out of action in 2015. On the advice of several of the leading lights at diyaudio that contributed to the 4-60 re-imagining we used Hammond 1650R. With more than a few premium parts used it's difficult to know who did what but the big Hammond OPTs certainly didn't hurt.

Building without NFB the ECC88 became 12AT7 to reduce gain. Triode wiring the EF86 further reduced gain and, along with the Gold Lion outputs, put the sound quality into the heavenly zone.
