RE: Baltimore area amp help - 300/76/6sn7 Hogan amp need work

Posted by jackpollard on April 5, 2020 at 19:19:25:

Hi Ray and thanks for the response.

The amp picked up a hum and has almost a reverb type of sound coming through.

I cleaned all the switches and pots and tried switching all the tubes out to no avail.

This happened over a year ago, I swapped it out with another amp, but really miss the silky smoothness of the Hogan.

At some point I called a few folks, but no one seemed to really be able to give me the confidence to bring it in for the exact reasons you suggested.

100% have no issues waiting until this insanity is over and I sure hope it eventually is over.

If you have any suggestions I would be happy to hear what you think and thanks again for responding.

Jack
