One source you might want to try is Yahoo Auctions Japan. Here is a link to HiFi Shark, where you can search on Tamura and then select 'all regions' or 'asia'. They have a lot of Tamura listed, and perhaps the one you are looking for.

If memory serves, most of the Tamura power transformers are 100v units, and if you are using a 100V transformer here on 120v plus, then you might well have cooked it. A step down transformer, or other voltage reducing method, would be required.
