Led Zeppelin - Trampled Under Foot

Led Zeppelin - Trampled Under Foot from Physical Grafitti. 1975

This is Zeppelin's only 2 LP studio effort. IMO LZ's first 5 albums are pure perfection. Not this one - side 3 contains my least favorite LZ song "In The Light", a song that starts nowhere, goes no where and ends no where. Worse than that the other 3 songs on that side aren't very good. Side 4 is better but nothing like sides 1 & 2 which may the best single disk ever from this band. Trampled Under Foot comes after Houses of the Holy and Before Kashmir. Kashmir is a great track, one often the favorite Zeppelin song by many Zep fans. I kind of think it's the weakest song on the first disk. I've seen many videos of Zeppelin in concert and never saw them myself but IMO they were clearly a band that produced great records but were hit in miss when seen live (based on Zeppelin fans I know who did see them live).

Got into listening to Physical Graffiti after playing In Through The Out Door an album that I appreciate more today than when it was first released. It's aged very well with time and I now consider it a first class effort and a perfect complement to the records that came before it.

The first record on Physical Graffiti is one of my favorite records ever - just like the first 5 LZ records and maybe the best of them. Hard to complain about the 2nd disk where there are 4 or 5 good songs but it would IMO be the worst Zeppelin record had it been released on it's own.

It's been awhile since I've seen a LZ post around here so let's get the Led out.
