The Ocean Blue, "Been Down A Lot Lately"

Posted by Luminator on July 14, 2021 at 16:58:15:

"Until you came along," emailed an Inmate, "I don't think any of us knew about The Ocean Blue. Make it a rock block!"

Well, TOB came about in late 1989, trying to fill the void left by The Smiths. Their first 4 years were semi-popular on college rock radio, and even MTV. But after that, their audiences started to graduate from college, and then MTV stopped playing videos.

In 2001, my then-girlfriend TLS, when not listening to CDs in the car, had a Discman. We loved listening to TOB's new CD, Davy Jones' Locker, in her little 2-door Honda Civic EX, but also when sitting down on, for example, a beach.

At the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, TLS and I loved simply riding the overhead tram, the Sky Glider, all the time. Since your feet dangle, make sure you don't lose/drop your footwear! Take in the views and sounds. TLS would sway left and right, to TOB's "Been Down A Lot Lately," one of her favorites.
