I can't make an excuse for why that particular bugle sounded the way it did, but I do know that just like any given system will sound different playing the same song so will an instrument and performer. And just like audio equipment, the surrounding environment makes all the difference as well.

True to the music may mean true to what we expect music to sound like more than anything....
