For getting rid of apps and all their associated files, I've been happy with AppCleaner which IIRC you can download from the App Store - it searches everything associated with the app you want to get rid of - even the stuff you can't find yourself. It then shows you the list of what it finds, which it can then delete for you if you give the go ahead. I've used it for years with no problems.
