Jriver setup to get better sound
Posted by Dawnrazor on July 28, 2012 at 12:31:41:
I have been playing with the free old version of jriver (16) and dlna.
It works. But in comparing to cplay on the same computer with the same file cplay is better sounding...clearer and more effortless. This was just on the general use w7 computer and my inexpensive headphone rig and an informal comparison where I could pause either player and play the same section of the same song right after each other. It was pretty clear which sounded better.
Cplay was of course with asio and jriver was using wasapi (event style wouldnt work.
I had jriver setup for memory playback and had minimized so things. But are there any things I should definitely do in the setting that I might have missed? Especially ones that can make it clearer and less veiled? Or is that just the network dlna reality?
