RE: Eminent Tech LFT-8b

Posted by riverdinaudio on November 6, 2020 at 11:19:06:

LFT8 and 3.7 are very similar. That said, if you can find a LFT8 BUY IT! You will be very pleased. The LFT8 kills all Magnepans pre quasi-ribbon. The LFT series is everthing we wanted the Magnepans to be. Very sad that very few will ever get to hear the Eminent Technology LFT series. I have a 3, 6 and several 8's. Fact; the 1.7 and LFT8 are more balanced top to bottom than I could ever get the original MG20 to be. More detail much less Magnepan compression. I just purchased a 3.7i and it is a masterpiece. Bass with weight we did not think was possible from a Magnepan. No ribbon tweeter glare and balanced sound top to bottom. Three parts speaking as one. Wish now I had purchased the 20.7. Anyone with the wire on membrane Magnepan should be scouring the 2nd hand market or better yet go to your local dealer and go quasi-ribbon! And yes, the True Ribbon Tweeter has no equal. IMO
