salamanders are nice ...........

I once visited a couple who had a salamander in the tank. They said it was much better than fish, in that it exhibited some personality, and being a low activity being, might not have minded confinement as much as an animal running higher energy levels.

They took him out and let him walk along the arm of the couch, and he seemed to enjoy the attention, or maybe he was just fully panicked and trying to run but moved so slowly I couldn't tell.
