...it basically just states what we're all seeing. Pandemic fear has been replaced by pandemic fatigue. People are just getting tired--tired of the restrictions, tired of being stuck at home with their kids (not being in school), tired of not being able to see/gather with family/friends, tired of not working/earning an income. And we all know what fatigue does--makes people "sloppy". Not necessarily "willfully reckless", but careless.

Gone are the days of the "rah-rah" support (and hazard pay/bonuses) for front-line workers that provided critical services during the beginning of the pandemic. No more #alonetogether ad-campaigns splattered across all forms of the media. And gov't money?--that pretty-much dried-up in August, so a LOT of people are "on their own", and being forced to make HARD decisions.
