Was fun for a while...

Now it's our turn.

New Mexico, surrounded as we were with COVID 'hot spots', somehow managed to survive the last six or so months.

OK, some problems on 'Indian lands' in the far North-West corner and more than a few nursing home wipe-outs, but for a long time single digit infections in our zip code with all the problems miles away.

Gonna break 100 in our zip code within the week and a record 800+ infections recorded just yesterday (we test a lot, 8000 a day of late).

Hospitalizations have doubled in just the last three weeks (160 is a lot for a state of 2 million). 300 hospitalized and we are pretty much DONE.

And it ain't the tourists from Texas this time. It's 'small family gatherings' which, with four centuries of Catholicism, is pretty hard to curb.

No excuses should we perish from the plague. We have no real need to expose ourselves. Curbside grocery pickup is available at our favorite grocery store, barber does house calls and cuts hair outside and we live far from our nearest neighbors (who are old and have their own health worries) so if Ivan disappears from these boards it was his or his 'social butterfly' wife's fault.
