2x layers of PLYBOO. It comes in 3/4" thickness so 1 1/2" will work fine.
Have the SHARPEST TOOLING you can obtain and maintain. Bamboo has a High Silica Content and really chews thru tooling. Even Carbide.
Graphene by the Board Foot will be a dream material for QUITE a while.
