Input Transformer Question

While you go off and ponder the 45 output transformer topic I have one more item I'd like to pursue with your help. How do you feel about B7 input transformers into a 300B pre amp? I was thinking of dropping an Ingot in front of the BH 300B preamp. Add a GoldPoint selector switch, a P&G pot and toss the current balance circuit. The BeePree is 56K input and 500 ohms output so I'd have to add some resistance, I think.
Worthwhile experiment or am I jousting at windmills?
