RE: Anybody has had any experience with Davidlouis HIEND 8" Full Range?

Posted by David Pinnegar on June 15, 2017 at 11:21:03:

I have been curious about these speakers for a long time and have become very frustrated with Lowther foam disintegration, and voice coils going open circuit.

So I have been looking at other full range drivers for years. Audio Nirvana are good but the ceramic magnets don't fit into the smaller spaces in the 2nd generation of Acousta designs.

Some time ago I bought a pair of the Chinese version of the Audio Nirvana Neodymium units and found those to be absolutely superb. Occasionally I've found more pairs affordably on ebay and have been able to acquire them.

Finally I took the plunge and bought a pair of the white cone units. They are really wonderful. A natural, clear, refined sound that actually shows up a Lowther DX2 to be exaggerated. They are very near to the Chinese neodymium Audio Nirvana units, but better, slightly clearer.

I don't think they will disappoint anyone. Clear sound - oh and the back of the unit is brilliantly open, minimising distortions coming from the nether regions of units. Can't recommend them enough. Superb.

They marry extremely well into Acousta cabinets and will no doubt do other Lowther cabinets proud.

Best wishes

David P
