not all horns seem to blend well with the Karlson slot - For midrange, I didn't not like my Edgarhorn rectangular tractrix as much as a big radial horn. - IF your relatively heavy woofer can make it to 2K then give a K-tube a try. (that's in regard to using typical one-inch format compression drivers) I think a baffle that's wider than the compression driver's diameter and placed at the throat may help blending in some cases. Use cardboard to find out.

A K might be slow compared to horn - my K12 sounds a lot faster than my Klipcshcorns and perhaps other midbass/bass horns - its been awhile since I ran K15. K15 is somewhat tuneable via its rear lowpass gap area.
