RE: Klam ?

Posted by freddyi on August 11, 2012 at 06:51:39:

(with a coax and extended K-tube like Faerber I think one would work fullrange and the tube would then mask up close artifacts)

a klam10 would work pretty well in a little package and easy to manage

somewhere I have Carl's trax60 wing spec for this early try by him
you probably don't need/want that much rear chamber as its qtc could be set around 0.7->1.1

rough SIZE Klam12

one of Carl's klam12 - you could probably mount a K-tube and neo driver in there like with Karlson's AP100 and the Karlson-Oliver "Magna-Klam"

klam10 by Carl - had a long distance cutter do a couple but the opening came out more narrow than C's pix so the radius spec might be off. I'll load old spec Bets10x and crank up the compression driver and put them on tripods once I re-cut the aperture

Carl's Klam10 pix with old spec B102 - Eminence really killed that model's midrange and "treble" with the new spec

Rough Klam10 dims

The nice thing about an elevated klam is the even vertical dispersion - one could sit directly underneath one and hear highs (assuming coax)

Karlson-Oliver Phase3 projector - the top plate inside was covered
with a thin sheet of plexiglass

John Karlson and Jess Oliver debut the Oliver Sound "Clam" (for clam shaped pattern)

A regular K12 with a K-tube on top is real kicky for such a little package. Even a K10 a bit smaller will play loud and clear.

PYM1298 in K12 with a Transylvania "The Tube" on top. I might use a single vent like K15 instead of the distributive slit vent.
