The FiiO M11 would be my choice. It costs $400.

It uses AKM DAC chips and unfortunately the AKM factory was destroyed by fire. Consequently, the FiiO M11 is no longer available at the ordinary places such as Amazon and B&H Photo. However, there appears to be one for sale on eBay. It will play all digital formats up through DSD256 directly from its plugin micro SD memory cards. It has a one-megapixel touch screen and two micro SD memory card ports with the capability to address up to four terabytes.
