No high quality analog outputs and a single DAC channel instead of four devoted to each. I use the unbalanced high quality outputs for the front LR of 5.1 as well - same as I did with the DV-50. But then again, if you found Esoteric players incoherent you wouldn't like this player either: it sounds very similar. Regarding video my understanding is that with a top end 4K TV I'll be using Source Direct over HDMI and relying on the processing in the TV, so it's a moot point.
