I have a 2100

Built like a Brick S@#*thouse. Sounds like one when used full range. Excels as subwoofer amp driving a pair of AR3a used as subs.
I also have a C28 / 2505 combo that looks great, needs restoration, but are increasing in value as they sit.
One of the best amplifiers I have owned (and heard) was a pair of MC30 that were rebuilt with all new, carefully chosen and close tolerance parts. Absolutely wonderful. I acquired them as part of an equipment lot purchase and had to sell the pr to make the deal work. I still regret the sale 15yrs later.... I sold them to a recording studio in Italy.
New stuff is quite good, but overpriced. Name, look, reputation and "lifestyle" marketing come at a price. That said, many who are unaware of high end audio brands ARE aware of McIntosh and for some it has become an aspiration brand. Condemn Mac for marketing to the hoi polloi but if it also increases awareness of the industry so much the better for all of us.
