The primary change will be the menus which we're struggling to keep as close as possible to the current system where everything is a click away. The current Classic mode uses an html caching of the data making it a bit difficult to modify easily due to the different tags used in a responsive code base.

Therefore, the beta development is oriented on using the Threads view which is already a generated program using cached elements, so it's very fast and yet has the ability to sort the threads to either look just like the existing Classic view or to sort threads based on the last updated to bring the most recently active topics to the top.

Another feature is that the Thread view tracks read posts, so people that use a computer and a tablet can easily see what they're already read on either system.
