Wyred4Sound DAC2 vs Bel Canto DAC2

I currently own a Bel Canto DAC2 and was wondering if the W4S DAC would be considered an upgrade? Also, if you use the W4S DAC digital volume control, does it loose resolution?

I am not interested in Hi Rez music yet. I would be interested in using W4S as a pre amp provided it sounds tube like.
