Do you have any evidence for that?
Sound stage: between my speakers is the TV and furniture, yet on special imaging test tracks the phantom image is exactly where it is supposed to be.
Tonal balance: reflections coming from the same direction as the direct sound are masked by the latter. Further it is known from psychoacoustic research that the more reflections there are and the more irregularly these are placed on the time scale the less comb filter coloration is occurring:

So again, where is the evidence for that statement of yours?
