Sound Quality and Digital Resolution..........

Posted by Todd Krieger on June 25, 2020 at 00:19:40:

Playback formats, playback devices, playback resolutions, playback software, and DACs vary so greatly, what sounds good via one playback format/rig might sound awful through another......

I've stated this before, the odds of disappointment and/or frustration over sound quality of digitized music go up drastically with resolution...... Even at audio shows, I am rarely bowled-over by digital sources whose native resolutions are higher than CD quality...... (And in the few cases I am impressed, it's often due to some proprietary playback method. Case and point was the AGD Productions room at the 2019 THE Show, the playback source was proprietary and unobtanium to consumers, it was easily the best high-rez digital source I've ever experienced.)
