RE: KLE Innovations Silver Harmony RCA Plug

Posted by Duster on May 31, 2014 at 12:22:14:

I once came across a comparison of the mid-line KLE Innovations Silver Harmony rca connector vs. the lower-cost KLE Innovations Copper Harmony rca connector (silver plated copper for both the center pin and the ground pin), and although the report indicated the Silver Harmony sounded better to the particular listener, I'm not convinced of an actual issue of superiority unless I compare them with my own ears, not to mention a comparison with the top-of-the-line KLE Innovations Pure Harmony which features both a pure silver center pin and a pure silver ground pin. Perhaps it could be that the sonic signature of pure silver is emphasized vs. that of a silver plated copper design, of which I happen to like the sound of when implemented as a conductive material for an rca connector build. Perhaps it's a simple matter of three flavors to choose from, but that's just me pondering, as I do not know. In support of that notion, another report found that the Copper Harmony sounded better than an Eichmann Silver Bullet, so pure silver vs. silver plated copper did not matter according to that subjective opinion.
