The 'globe' problem is easily solved by replacing the burned one with high quality spares, not just your 'radio shack' 0.50c component.
Even better, why not replace all of them, say every year or two?
Globes have a finite lifespan, and depending on use, have to be replaced..
Think of it like your Valve amp. The valves have to be replaced after a while, haven't they?
On the technical side, it was commendable for Audiolab, to desighn the tuner with 'normal' globes rather than the easier solution of LED digital display (like so many other tuners), with the resulting sonic problems from the display being digitaly noisy.
....and like I said in the first instance, this is truly *neutral* sounding tuner that presents it like it is, and therefore more suited to Classical Music listeners.
