I have owned a pair of these speakers for 4 months and I am very happy with them. FYI though, I purchased them at ubid and paid about $400 for the pair. They are three way towers with two 8" woofers, 8" mid and 1" tweeter. They are not subtle and if anything, the midrange suffers. They are made to play at loud volumes with plenty of bass. For the price they suit me fine. I listened to Mirage OM-10's and Boston Acoustics but both lacked the depth of the Wharfedale's. I would characterize these speakers as "muscular". HiFi Choice (British HiFi mag) gives them a best buy in their class.
