OK I am biased I own these speakers but the more one lives with them the more I can overlook their flaws. I am not going to gush over how great these speakers are. I am not going to talk about the wide soundstage they cast and how dead on the timbre is. Nor will I talk about the top to bottom coherence these speakers have in spades. OK, so i lied. These speakers are one of the best out there, but be forewarned unless you have some brute of amps then you best stay away. They are rated at 86 db at 2.83 volts, which by my calculations is close to 3 watts. So they are rediculously inefficient. But if you have the power to drive them properly, have the cream de la cream of ancillary components and spend a significant amount of time to set them up properly. You will be rewarded with some of the best sounds available. When set up properly Thiel speakers are NOT bright contrary to the prevailing Myth. If anything I find them a bit relaxed in my setup. I understand many rooms are different but I have had JM labs, Eggleston's and Infinity IRS Betas among others in my listening room and none convey the weight, emotion and authority better than the Thiels. Instruments come alive and the air and breath of the musicians is eerily portrayed with the thiels. Instruments have their proper height and transients snap with authority and realism. instruments wrap around the listener engulfing him or her in a sonic wall wall of Nirvana.

Product Weakness: rediculously inefficient, fussy setup, not tube friendly
Product Strengths: dead on timbre, Imaging, true to the source
