for the Gold i

Owned the Gold i's for two months now. Running them with Musical Fidelity A3.2 integrated and a Jolida CD player. Fortunate to find them used local. Best money spent yet on audio equipment.

Last two years I have owned ( not in this order):

Vandersteen 2ce sigs,

Meadowlark Osprey's and Kestral 1 and 2,

VonSchweikert VR 2's,

JM Labs Cobalt 816 S ,

Dynaudio Audience 52 SE, Very Nice!

B&W CM 4 and CDM 1 and DM 604 v. 3,

NHT 2.5i,

and a few others I can't remember at the moment.

Never truley know a speaker till you get it home between your walls and plugged into your equipment. All the speakers above had strengths and weakness's but I was looking for one that can perform well in all areas, high and low.

The PSB Stratus Gold i's have come the closest yet, to what I am looking for. Solid accurate bass foundation and dynamic depth that you can feel, without boomyness and a non fatiguing midrange that is neutural yet revealing. The highs are detailed and airy without a shrill harshness. The ten inch woofers convey the full depth of a bass drum and growl of a bass guitar. They also image well for a large floorstander. Love the full soundstage and the rich tonal balance that extends to the back wall. Very sturdy, heavy, well built and handle higher volume with ease.

O.K. they are not perfect but for the price I can't find anything that can outperform the total package!

Product Weakness: Heavy, big, They need the Dynaudio Esotec tweeter
Product Strengths: Full measure of quality sound. Build and looks.
