I will make this quick. I needed to get smaller speakers for my main system that I could put up on a shelf when not in use (and pull stands out from corners of the room). The proac 2.5 types I had were becoming hazards for my toddlers. I tried these based on instinct and by reading the review by Jeff day at 6moons on the smaller merrill driver speakers (the zigmahornet link is here: http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/zigmahornet/zigmahornet.html). In a word - they are fantastic. All the things they said in the 6moons review is true. they are very real - performerss in the room kinda stuff. they have excellent tight bass and do NOT exhibit any midrange shout as I have experienced with other single drivers. I did make the patio king speaker chords and I am also using the sony playstation - just like jeff day. there is a great synergy here. I am off the merry-go-round as this is my 6th pair of speakers for the main system (my 4th set of single drivers). They are being driven by a 25 wpc kt-66 based integrated. The kicker of it all is that Fritz is the nicest guy in the business. These are clear, coherent and offer a touch of warmth - all you would ever want.
