I feel like a broken record. I just keep telling people how good this subwoofer is. This shouldn't be a surprise because everyone knows that ACI builds great products at very fair prices. What IS a shock is that as far as I'm concerned, you cannot buy a better sounding sub unless you're willing to spend about 4 times as much for Aerial's superb sub. Other subs will play louder, but they just don't integrate as seamlessly.
The Titan II just plain disappears. I believe it is a combination of low Q sealed box, low distortion, transparent filters, and low resonance cabinet. That's ACI's explanation and it makes perfect sense to me.
I own a pair of these wonderful subs and they are worth every penny I spent on them and more. NOT because they take plaster off the walls, (sure they can play loud), but because they never call attention to themselves unless the bass demands it. Bass is so tight, tactile and natural. Best of all, they don't hurt the upper bass and mids like so many subs. In my system, with ACI Jaguars, they actually improve the upper bass. I'm using passive high-pass filters in front of my Jaguars and this really allows them to sing.
Bottom line? If you want to hear an absolutely great sub. Give the Titan II a try, you'll be glad you did.
