Tubes Asylum: REVIEW: Balanced Audio Technology (BAT) VK5i Preamplifier (Tube) by Chris

I've been totally amazed with this preamp after upgrading from a Lexicon DC 1. I't s added a reality and depth to music I knew I was missing, but never realized how much till I got the VK 5i. Vocals are full and detailed now. The biggest improvement I noticed when I upgraded was a beautiful harmonics to vocals and instruments that I never heard before. And just 2 dys ago a friend had some spare Valvo ECC 88's that I used to upgrade from the stock Sovteks. But I noticed no improvement at all. Not a good move imo. My biggest concerns now is the small room that I must use in our new 20's bungalow house we just moved into. Bass pretty boomy. As well, I know my weakest link is my source/the Adcom player. Though this forum has peaked my interest in the BAT tubed cd pleyer, I'm going to wait for a multi format audio player before I upgrade I think?? And I hope I don't read anymore fantastic reviews of the SE upgrade anytime soon! :-)
