If you are looking for the very best « cost-no-object » preamplifier in the world, don’t look further ! Here is it ☺.

The Reference MBL 6010D is by far the best preamplifier I have owned (including the best from Audio Research, Nagra, YBA, Plinius, Jadis) and heard in details (including the best from Goldmund, Burmester, Cello, Accuphase, DarTZeel, McIntosh, Audio Note, etc.). Why is it, in my opinion, the very best ? Just because you don’t hear it. You don’t need to wonder if it sounds like « tube » or « solid state », « analytical » or « warm », etc. : it just sounds right. It just sounds like the music itself. Incredibly transparent, incredibly detailed. Fast, neutral. It masters easily the amplifier and just let the music flow. A feel of ease.,I have never encountered before. Truly holographic.

It is also exquisitely built. (The pictures below in silver are my own unit, and the ones in black show another available variant). Both extremely heavy and extremely refined. The look is fantastic (in my opinion far better than most other MBL products).

I also like very much the fact that this unit is « stable ». Engineers at MBL know they have invented a marvel and don’t feel obliged to replace it. It is just fine like this and I bet i twill remain in production for decades : nothing to add, nothing to remove (cf. the recent stereophle review leading to a class A rating).

The technical data are also beyond reproach with and impressive bandpass, a vanishing distortion, and a very low output impedance.

Of course it is expensive. But it is not the most expensive around. And, as far as I can hear, it is the very best.

-- forgive my mistakes : English is not my first language --

It is also available in this finish :
