Convenience, that is what it is about for me. After trying out PC Audio for many many years (I think I started in PC Audio in 1993 with the Soundblaster 16 sound card for Microsoft DOS 5.0), decided to go the embedded device route for music streaming services and to a smaller extent playing my CD rips which I have no need for anymore after the lossless streaming services like Deezer.

I'm not an expert reviewer, I don't write poetry or philosophy books, nor do I compare certain sounds to different blends of scotch. But I can say indeed the Sonos connect has made my life easier, strictly because of the insane amount of music applications and cloud services it supports (lots). Sure it doesn't go past CD quality, but at this point I have no interest in listening to a 10th copy of a tape made by Miles Davis sold again and again for $30.
