It is not often that we get a reissue where the original LP was a great introductory effort by a new band, where the LP in question was well recorded and where the original release, no matter how well done, failed to deliver the quality of that recorded sound.

MoFi's reissue of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Pronounced possesses all of those strengths and fixes whats wrong with the original pressing. I have an old, early MCA pressing of this LP and as MCA pressings go its not bad. The music and playing make up for whatever shortcomings that MCA created when they issued another rock release back in 1973.

When MoFi announced that they were going to reissue this LP I put it on my short list of LPs that I had to buy. The reason for a high quality reissue is that a classic LP was never given the treatment it should have received. Like I said above...This requires that the master tape be in good condition. The master tape should also show off a great performance and lastly the master tape should not be in need of hiding anything.

All of those elements combine to make for a very, very good reissue that trumps every pressing I have ever heard of this LP. I have SN 134 of MFSL 1-400 and the clarity, dynamics and sound quality are all above and beyond anything I had hoped for.

If you like this LP and want a great pressing of it, look no further. You can delude yourself into believing that the original pressing is the best or you can plop down $30 and enjoy the music. Its not complicated nor is this pressing marginally better.

This is much better in every way I can possibly think of.

Well done MoFi.

Product Weakness: None...except its too short and ends too soon.
Product Strengths: Great albim, recorded very well, mastered and pressed excellently
