This is a well made and flexible unit. The cost varies depending on whether the unit is a 2-way or 3-way crossover; level of construction (fully assembled, EZ kits or full kit); and upgrades available (upgraded op-amps, balanced). One of the realy neat aspects of owning a unit like this is the fact that Marchand will entertain additional changes. For example, Marchand modified the XM9 to provide me with 15db of gain since I was using their passive preamp and Marchand added a baffle step compensation circuit to the XM9.
