for the Prologue Two
I bought the Prima Luna Prologue Two exactly one year ago and it has far exceeded my expectations.
It is as if filters and coloration have been removed and the full 'bandwidth' and nuance of the music is now flowing out of the speakers in an effortless sort of way. There are voices behind voices, harmonies underneath harmonies, sub tones and whispers that just were not part of our listening experience before. There is an uncanny sense of dimension, clarity and balance.
I have Monitor Audio Silver 7 speakers that sounded somewhat bright with my previous ss integrated. Now they are warmer, rounder, fuller with more detail, bass and extended soundstage.
All of this is amazing since it was experienced with my then low budget DVD player and record player and the amp was not yet broken in. I never thought that a good quality amp would offer such an immediate and profound improvement.
A friend of mine who has a good system came for a listen and was blown away - he actually called me later to tell me that he is now depressed when he listens to his system.
Update - One year later:
I have since upgraded my CD player with the Arcam CD192 and it has provided a noticeable improvement. The music from CD's now is more precise, alive and vibrant.
Also replaced my budget Onkyo TT with a Technics SL1200 MKII that came with a new Signet AM50S cartridge. The pleasure of listening to good lps is very rewarding and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't listened to records since the advent CD's. I don't pretend to be an audiophile and certainly not an expert but there is a certain non-digital quality with good records. I have even A-B'd the same CD's and records and most of the lp's sound more convincing and real.
Bottom Line - The PrimaLuna Prologue Two has introduced me to a new level of enjoying recorded music.
Product Weakness: none Product Strengths: Sound - build quality - price - reliability - looks....... SOUND and the Support from Upscale Audio is top notch
