for the Trico

The cable is BNC terinated and has about 50 hours of burnin in it.

This is a true 75 ohms cable, purpouse designed cable to be used for coaxial SPDIF digital cable or video cable made by jenving industries in Sweden.

The construction is a multi-stranded silver-plated OFC center core, one layer of silver-plated OFC braid to be used as conductor and an outermost OFC braid to be used as shield. Although the cable does not look exotic (PVC or something similar in the outside), it is very well constructed, unlike other products sold at megabuck prices that seem to be made in someone´s back yard. The connectors are as high quality as I have seen in any products of at least twice the price.

Supra cables uses silver plated conductors only for digital or video transmission which requires very high speed ( high frecuency) carrying signal. for analog type of transmission the used OFC not silver plated.

In their literature Supra describes their Trico and others in the line as being able to transmit fine detailed sound in the highs without being strident and powerfull, but controlled and defined lows. All at intentionally real world prices.

In my experience, that is just what the Trico sounds like. Sweet defined highs, powerfull and defined bass.

The character of the cable has not changed noticeably after the burnin, I dont feel that any part of the frecuancy spectrum is highlighted at expense of the rest. Certaintly, the highs don´t sound objectionable or tizzy.

Besides the sound quality, which is the main atribbute of course, the products materials, connectors and quality of construction are superior to comparable products I have seen from other manufacturers at similar or even higher prices.

Highly recomended.

ps- In the days of SACD and DVD Audio an external DAC with a quality SPDIF interconnect still makes sence. From what I have heard and read from fellow inmmates, SACD machines have the ability to surpass red book standard CDs but sound worse as cd players. So to have the cake and eat it too you can purchasse an SACD or DVD Audio machine and hook-up a quality DAC to its SPDIF output for better CD sound!

Product Weakness: not commonly available brand.
Product Strengths: Detailed unfatiguin highs combined with powerfull adn well defined lows. Very doun to earth price!
