A couple of months ago, I reviewed Element Cable's Twisted Pair Evolution Interconnects. The review was enthusiastic and complimentary. Then why would I sell them in just a few weeks, and replace them with another cable?
Because the Evolutions were so good in terms of "bang for the buck", I couldn't help wondering if just a few more bucks to the same cable maker would also produce an even more disproportionate "bang".So I ordered two pairs of the least expensive interconnect in Element's upscale "Signature" line, the $330 a pair Titan cu "es".
After two weeks on nearly constant playing they are beginning to show their character: richly harmonic, smooth, dynamic, detailed without being edgy, and above all, communicative, that quality of making present the musical sense and emotion of a performance. I find myself playing my favorite and most familiar cd's as if hearing them for nearly the first time, thinking something like , "Oh yes, so that's what he was really trying to say".
I think these interconnects will make their home in my system for a very long time indeed, perhaps permanently.
