for the CDV-Pro
I am very happy with this unit. It has a warm airy sound that brings the details of acoustic instruments to a level that causes most of my guests to say "wow". My wife even claims "the sound is deeper and I can tell where the musicians sit". *smile* She enjoys the soundstaging actually presented by this CD player. I paid $550 for this unit as a refirbished unit from the current manufacturer and its a shame this unit has been discontinued.
I'm hoping to do the mods explained by the original engineer, John Atwood at http://www.one-electron.com/CDVPro/CDVPro_Page.html soon. I'll update this review after the mods are complete.
Product Weakness: No longer available. Would have been nice to see a stronger transport. (uses Philips transport) Product Strengths: Clean balanced sound at an afordable cost.
