for the JD1501

Auditioned for a friend who was considering a used purchase for half retail. I found it very one dimensional i.e. not at all dynamic, no depth to the sound stage, little distinction between loud and soft...
The highs were brassy and the bass limited. For the price, one would do better with an Asian SS unit. The result was just not worth the extra cost of implementing a tube pre-amp.

Product Weakness: Completely uninvolving.
