for the A400S
I've had the A400 for about 8 years. It's been used with C-J PFR preamp and a C-J CT 5 pre amp. It replaced an Electrocompaniet 100/channel amp and has been used with Dunlavy SC IV speakers which are relatively efficient but require lots of current in a couple of places. Robert Green in TAS has said that this amp is as good as can be had regardless of what is spent and I agree. Its most outstanding characteristics are neutrality, clarity and crispness. It is not bright unless the music/recording requires it but gives a clear impression of precision reporting. Very easy to listen to for long sessions. I've had no problems with it though it is played on average 2 hours a day. Without doubt one of the best bargains in the high-end field.
Product Weakness: Too cheap for its own good. Product Strengths: Clarity, crispness and ease.
