I'm using the TSU-2000 (2nd generation, I believe)I stumbled in here & found that not one person has had anything to say about this remote. It's amazing! Programming it, or should I say that 'learning how' to program it can be a little difficult. I only recommend this remote if you have a computer, although I read of others successfully using it without one. Once the learning obstacle is out of the way ... it's off to the races for this little puppy. Bet on it because it's a winner! There is Mac and PC software for it and it's a very quick "learner".
We now have a small basket sitting on top of my cd rack/bookshelf with 8 ... yes I said 8 remotes in it! I no longer need them because of the TSU-2000!
You are not limited to the standard buttons as with other 'universal' remotes. Your able to add, remove, move, or label the buttons any way or anyplace on the screen that you wish. (I have 4 screens for my Denon AVR-5700 to cover all the buttons from the original remote.) There are up and down arrows that automatically appear at the top and bottom, when you make more than 1 'screen' for a device. You simply scroll through them.
One remote does it all. It has Volume and Channel + and - with a mute for "hard" buttons on the right side. Two more hard buttons down on the bottom and they can be programmed for anything at any time, (as with the above buttons), depending on what screen you are on or should I say, which component your listening to or viewing.
IE: receiver volume for DVD's or the TV's variable output while watching TV with the receiver set at a constant level ... you decide. The main screen is a "Palm Pilot" based touch screen that's backlit. It senses the light in the room and decides if it should light, based on the preferences (YES I said preferences) you set up.
There is an optional recharging base and rechargeable battery (recommended) that is actually pretty small and quite streamline looking
Yes, I wish it was just a bit smaller but one-handed operation is not a problem for me. My girlfriend sometimes uses two hands but then again, so do I sometimes.
Check into it, it's well worth it!Support sites:
