for the Neuance
from what i gather (having bought both my shelves used from locals who upgraded to finite pagode racks), the neuance shelves can be bought in whatever size you desire; likewise, load limits (normally 30lbs) can be exceeded w/ custom shelves.i have 2: one under my transport, and one under my tube amp (wavac 572), the latter of which is rated for 70lbs. there's not much to describe in setup or appearance; just use a coupling cone b/w the shelf and whatever base it rests on (point side away from the neuance so as not to penetrate the shelf) and you're ready to go.
there's no straining to hear what's going on. music is more coherent, inner details previously obscured emerge nicely, and tonality is markedly improved (especially coming from using granite--the horrors! it rings like a bell!). stage depth and image density likewise fill out much better.
i mean, geez, this is a friggin shelf! it should not be doing this!
when placed under key / sensitive components (as not all components are!), these things are less like an afterthought tweak and more like a "Mark 2" version of whatever you have. kudos to ken for providing such an excellent product at reasonable prices.
insofar as tweaks go, this has my highest recommendation. nothing i've tried (save a TG-bybee power conditioner at 10x the price) comes close.
