for the iBalance 201
This digital scale is not made specifically for audio, however it worked just perfect with my VPI Aries. I was able to sit the scale, right next to the platter and it was the same height as the platter. I had my Grado Statement Sonata Cartridge set at 1.5 Grams by using the inexpensive Shure gauge for $19.95. Well, when I placed the needle down onto my new digital scale, the weight measured 1.37grams. I ended up raising the weight to 1.77 grams.
I heard much more detail, better imaging and bottom end slam. This was definitely a great addition to my setup, especially since it was a gift from my Father-in-law. I also made up a temporary device to weigh cartridge with the scale sitting on the platter, thus ruling out whether the magnetism in the cartridge was affecting the scale. It wasn't, so I just tossed the scrap piece of wood away.
This unit has a lifetime warranty, runs on AC or DC and as you can see from the link, there are many hot features for this unit.
